Workshop: Fall Planting for Spring Flowers

  • Killdeer Farms 4951 Jefferson Boulevard West Sacramento, CA, 95691 United States (map)

Saturday, August 30
9 - 11 am

Our flagship workshop is back! Offered twice a year, this class digs into the dirty details of growing flowers from seed at home. It's a ton of fun, you'll learn a lot, and everyone goes home with a collection of our favorite seeds to try.

β€œHardy” annuals are flowers that can withstand freezing temperatures and prefer to start their life in cool weather. In Sacramento, gardeners can get a jump start on spring flowers by planting certain varieties like snapdragons, sweet peas, and foxglove in the fall.

Join us for a tour of Killdeer Farms and a thorough, hands-on experience designed for the home gardener. In this workshop, you will learn how to select the right flowers for fall planting and start seeds indoors and outside. Register HERE.

All participants will receive:

Β·     Killdeer Farms’ seasonal planting spreadsheet, so you’ll know which months flowers can be planted and harvested

Β·     List of trusted resources for seeds, supplies and education

Please feel welcome to arrive early and enjoy coffee in the garden. This experience is tailored for mature participants, but interested youth under 13 are welcome to attend with an adult at no charge. Ready to join us? Register HERE.
