Build your own owl box
A variety of barn owl nest structure designs have been used as part of barn owl conservation, but few provide the necessary protection from predators, enough room for large broods, and simple access side door to allow for easy monitoring and maintenance.
This version from the California Raptor Center at UC Davis provides two chambers so that babies can be nurtured on one side without risk of falling out. The other side has an entry/exit hole for the grown owl. There’s a hatch on the babies’ side so that the box can be cleaned out when nesting season is over.
