Farmer for a Day: Lavender Harvest

$35.00

Dates (choose one):
Friday, May 29 | 8:30–11:30 am
Saturday, May 30 | 8:30–11:30 am
Sunday, May 31 | 8:30–11:30 am

Spend a real morning on the farm during one of the most fragrant and satisfying moments of the season: lavender harvest.

Our Farmer for a Day experiences are designed for sturdy, garden-loving folks who want a behind-the-scenes look at how our small farm operates. This is not a polished workshop or styled photo event. It’s a hands-on farm morning with real tasks, good people, plenty of learning, and a whole lot of lavender.

Guests will help harvest lavender, gather and bunch stems for drying, and learn about timing, techniques, and how we process the crop after harvest. Along the way, we’ll share insights into farm operations, lavender care, and what it actually takes to bring a crop in during peak season.

Refreshments are provided, and everyone goes home with a giant armload of lavender. We keep these groups intentionally small to create a productive, meaningful experience, so advance registration is required.

A few things to know:

  • Harvesting involves squatting, bending, and working in pairs with electric hedge trimmers

  • Not into squatting or hedge trimmers? We also need bunchers to gather and hang lavender for drying inside the barn

  • Closed-toe shoes are required

  • Hats, sunscreen, and layers are strongly encouraged

  • This experience takes place outdoors on uneven ground

  • A signed liability waiver will be required prior to participation

  • There are bees here. They are busy, happy, and generally uninterested in us, but we do work alongside them

This experience is designed for adults, but engaged youth are welcome to participate.
Parking available on Armfield Avenue
