Zinnias
Zinnias offer a bright, joyful mix of flower sizes with sturdy stems, long vase life, and colors that range from soft blush, cream, apricot, and lavender to coral, raspberry, orange, red, lime, and deep wine. These are the workhorses of the summer cutting garden: cheerful, productive, heat-loving, and very hard to offend. The more you cut, the more they bloom, which is exactly the kind of enthusiasm we like around here. Expect a mix of shapes depending on the variety, from classic domes and fluffy doubles to cactus-style petals and smaller accent blooms that add color, texture, and plenty of personality to bouquets. Harvest when stems are firm and blooms pass the “wiggle test” for the best vase life. Excellent for fresh cuts, pollinator gardens, summer color, and generous armloads of flowers all season long. Annual.
